Our trip to Greece started as a before-Christmas getaway to Athens, stretching into the New Year. His dad and brother joined us, making it a special family trip. Little did I know, he had planned something even more special — something that would completely take me by surprise.
From the very first week, he subtly built up to the moment. He kept asking me to take photos of him at different sights, claiming he wanted new pictures for his LinkedIn profile. Honestly, I didn’t suspect a thing — I just played along, fulfilling my usual “Instagram girlfriend” duties.
A few days in, we took a ferry to Santorini, arriving in one of the most breathtaking places I had ever seen. Our accommodation had the most stunning view, overlooking the endless blue waters and majestic mountains. The first day was filled with exploration, countless photos, and a lovely dinner at a picturesque restaurant.
The second day started with a peaceful breakfast, but soon after, we went on an activity that required me to climb up and down a long stretch of stairs. Having undergone ACL surgery just months before, I was still recovering, moving slowly and struggling with my strength. By the time we got back, I was utterly exhausted. I just wanted to rest.
Then, as the evening approached, he gently nudged me to freshen up, saying we should catch the sunset together. Again, I didn’t think much of it — I was just reluctant because I was still so drained. But he was already ready, all dressed up, flashing that charming smile, and once again, asking for another “LinkedIn profile shot.”
As I finally joined him, he handed me a card. This wasn’t unusual — he had been giving me cards since my birthday in mid-December. This was the fourth one, and I jokingly called it “Phase 4” of my presents. Smiling, I thought I had figured out his little pattern of surprises. But I had no idea what was coming next. I looked at the card’s cover — a diamond ring illustration. My heart skipped a beat. I turned to him, eyes wide in shock. He slowly stepped back towards the poolside, where a hidden GoPro had been recording everything. Then, he pulled out a ring from behind his back. “Read the card,” he said softly. As I read the words aloud, emotions overwhelmed me. Tears welled up in my eyes. And in that magical moment, he knelt down and proposed.
I could barely process it — I was in awe, speechless, overwhelmed with happiness. But the answer was clear. I hugged him tightly and said, “Yes.”
It was truly the most magical moment, in the most beautiful place, with the most incredible person.
What’s a funny or sweet story from your relationship that your wedding guests might not know about?
We had dinosaur blow-ups and he busted some moves with it!
How did you decide on your wedding date and venue? What was your wedding theme and what was your inspiration behind it?
We chose our wedding date based on the season in Greece. While we initially considered destinations like Africa, Spain, or Iceland — places we both love —we realised that our last trip to Greece had been truly special. We fell in love with the food, the culture, and the overall experience. So, we decided to explore Greece further for our wedding.
During my search for destination wedding venues, I came across a beautiful location in Corfu. After reaching out to the venue and having a video call, we instantly fell in love with it. It had a cozy and intimate feel, which was exactly what we wanted for our small wedding. Although we had never been to Corfu before, we took a leap of faith, and when we arrived a few days before the wedding, we were beyond grateful — the venue was even more breathtaking in person.
Our wedding theme was an outdoor, boho, and cozy celebration with our closest family and friends. We wanted a setting that felt warm and intimate, blending natural beauty with relaxed elegance. Corfu’s stunning landscapes, combined with its golden-hour sunsets, created the perfect fairytale-like atmosphere we had envisioned.
Our wedding day was absolutely perfect — everything went just as we had hoped. The setting, the weather, and the intimate ambiance made it all feel magical. And I couldn’t have been happier with my dress! Bone & Grey created a gown that fit like a dream, making me feel beautiful and confident. Looking back, it was everything we had wished for — a heartfelt celebration in the most breathtaking place, surrounded by the people we love.
What made you choose our Bone & Grey gown and what did you like the most about it?
The dress was classy yet modern. It suits my style without being too over-the-top and the quality of the fabric was just exceptional.

After dinner, I changed into a chic white suit vest and matching white pants for the dancefloor. I paired it with comfortable pointy flats — perfect for dancing the night away! I wanted something stylish yet effortless, allowing me to move freely and fully enjoy the celebration with our loved ones. The vibe was all about feeling confident, cool, and ready to have the best time!
What was the most memorable part of your wedding that you love up till today?
The most memorable part of our wedding was the breathtaking golden-hour sunset in Corfu, surrounded by our closest family and friends. The intimate, cozy atmosphere and the stunning outdoor setting made it feel like a dream. Up till today, I still cherish how everything came together so beautifully — the venue, the love, the laughter, and the pure joy in that moment. Throughout the day, I felt a mix of emotions — excitement, happiness, and a sense of calm knowing I was marrying the love of my life in such a magical place. It was truly a day to remember forever.
Advice for Brides-to-be...
One of the biggest pieces of advice I’d share is to trust your instincts and go with what feels right for you and your partner. Whether it’s the venue, the dress, or the little details — choose what makes you both happy rather than trying to meet everyone’s expectations.
Also, don’t stress over perfection. Things may not go exactly as planned, but in the end, it’s the love, the laughter, and the special moments that truly make the day unforgettable. Take a step back, soak it all in, and enjoy every second — it goes by faster than you think!
