When we got married, we had been together for 6 years and 9 months.

Share with us your proposal story!
We love to travel and had a trip to Belize to scuba dive scheduled. I had a feeling he would propose at some point on the trip, possibly when we were out scuba diving. But instead, he had surprised me with a sunset cruise on a beautiful wooden boat the first evening of the trip where he popped the question as the sun was setting.

How did you decide on your wedding date and venue?
We initially considered a traditional wedding, but when we sat down and discussed our likes and dislikes about traditional weddings, we realized a more intimate style suited us better. We chose Hawaii as our destination because it holds deep meaning for me - my dad was laid to rest there in 2021, and it was important to me that he be present in spirit on my wedding day.

What was your wedding day like?
The wedding day itself was wonderfully relaxing. We spent the morning at the hotel spa and then in the afternoon, I got ready with my mom and sister for the beachfront ceremony. We exchanged private vows before the ceremony, captured family photos on the beach, and then headed over to the reception area. There, we enjoyed a champagne toast, cake cutting, had our first dance, and had a delicious four-course dinner to end the day.

What made you choose our B&G gown and what did you like the most about it?
I was looking for a boat neck dress, but most of the boat necks I found were on the conservative side and didn’t give me the little sexiness I was looking for. I came across the Julia dress from an Instagram post, and I immediately fell in love. The boat neck front and low back were exactly what I was looking for.

Was there a special touch added to / a special way of styling your B&G gown and why?
I knew I wanted jewelry with my wedding dress, but I had trouble finding accessories that complemented the boat neck cut. So I turned to my mom’s jewelry collection and discovered her long pearl necklace. She suggested styling it so that from the front, it looked like a pearl choker, while the back featured a knot to accentuate the gown’s open back. I thought it was incredibly unique yet elegant and perfectly reflected my personal style.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding that you love up till today?
The most memorable part of the day was the time before the ceremony when we had our first look and exchanged private vows. That intimate moment will always hold a special place in my heart and a memory I’ll cherish forever.
