Share with us about your love story! How did you meet and where?

We met first at our mutual friend's wedding! We were part of the bridal party and kind of knew each other's existence. Back then, we didn't speak to each other much since we had minimal wedding duties that crossed each other.

What made you fall in love with your partner?

C: He's hilarious and has got a super animated personality. It's an awesome thing to find in someone!

K: Cara has a kind heart, and always makes me laugh.

What's one thing you guys always agree on / disagree on?

It's us having four dogs hahaha! He's always against it as I already have two at the moment, but I know if I ever want one, he might just give in to me.

Coastal Proposal Under Fairy Lights

How did your partner propose? Share with us your proposal story!

We were supposed to go for our anniversary dinner. He talked about bringing me to a secluded restaurant. When we parked the car, all I could see was trees and a path.

Eventually, we walked along the coast for 30 minutes, and I got distracted by the scenic view. 

When I started to get suspicious of where this supposed restaurant was, we reached a viewpoint at the end of the road where there were fairy lights lined up. He then popped the question, and I didn't have a clue!

What was your wedding day like?  

It felt like a flash. I don't remember a lot of details but I remembered the feeling of all our loved ones being in the same space together at the same time.

It was such a blessing that our bridal party and families were very supportive and that helped to carry us through the day.

I was also very happy to be praised for the wedding outfits that I wore, it really gave me the best kind of confidence on the day itself!

What were some of your biggest challenges you faced during your wedding planning?

We were challenged by the desires to meet our own needs but also our families' wants. It truly tested the patience and understanding of all of us. I definitely spent a ton of time making decisions with my partner. 

A single wedding felt like a collision of opinionated minds between two families. I am super glad that I did not have to do this alone! 

Were there any unexpected surprises throughout the journey? 

One of my bridesmaids had to pull out one week before our actual day due to a last-minute business trip. It was hard for me as she was one of my closest childhood friends.

To me, her role was special and I wanted to have her next to me to celebrate this important day, since she has witnessed many of my life's key moments.

However, I did not have a replacement, which I assume many couples will attempt to find in order to make sure they get a balanced bridal party on both sides.

What made you choose our B&G gown and what did you like the most about it?

My ideal wedding gown has always been a simple yet elegant dress made of satin that is easy to walk in. That's why I fell in love with the Emma - Bone and Grey gown after trying it on at the studio.

I felt the little touches - the rows of pearls at the back, are really unique and suit the wedding venue I picked very well!

Please share your decision for the multiple outfits and the vibe you were going after!

I decided on five outfits to pair with each event of the day.

(1) I wore a Chinese kua for my traditional tea ceremony, (2) a laced wedding gown for a garden-like solemnisation, (3) an elegant yet memorable wedding gown, Emma, for first march-in and second march-in, (4) a traditional Indian lehenga to give our guests a surprise at our wedding reception, and finally, (5) a comfortable but glamorous evening dress for the after-party!

It might seem too tiring for some but it went great for me! 

I really enjoyed switching across different styles. One trick I did was to retain some similar accessories like heels and earrings to speed up the changing time.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding that you love up till today? How did you feel throughout the day?

The weather that day! The forecast reported that the chance of rain was 99%. However, there was not a single drop of rainfall the whole day for us. There was even a sun ray shining on us during the exchange of our vows near the evening. That was insane!

My photo/video team back then shared that they spotted a grasshopper at our wedding ceremony.

We found out that such a sight at a wedding ceremony is often considered a beautiful, auspicious omen!

Share one or two pieces of advice/tips you would pass on to upcoming brides.

It's important to listen to your partner and compromise, but make sure to also have enough of a say that both of you get the dream wedding you want.

Another thing will be when it comes to picking the wedding outfit, I feel that it is crucial to also follow your heart over what others think of you. 

Trust your gut, as you know yourself the best!
