Share with us about your love story! How did you meet and where?
We met on Coffee Meets Bagel. Our profiles matched because we shared the same faith as Christians. We instantly click during chats due to our love for our family and food.
Our first date was at Orchard Cuppage Road for some Japanese food. Thereafter, J asked me out for dates on a weekly basis in fear that someone else would ask me out.
Things worked out between us eventually :)
What do you love most about your partner? What made you fall in love with your partner?
Josh: For me, what I loved most about her is her spontaneous spirit.
Suezen: We fell in love because everything just felt natural. I do not need to put on a facade of my best self, rather, I can just be myself when we are together. No judgements involved — only understanding between both of us.

How long have you guys been together?
We had been together for 3.5 years before we officially tied the knot in October 2025.
What was your first impression of each other?
Josh: She’s cute and she shares quite a lot of similar interests with me!
Suezen: He’s charming and most importantly, this person shares quite a lot of similar interests with me!
Perfect Spring View: A Surprise Proposal in Rome, Italy

How did your partner propose? Share with us your proposal story!
J proposed to S in Italy back in April 2024! He planned a surprise.
After flying from SG all the way to Italy, S wore her normal cozy clothes on the airplane, wore thick glasses and no makeup, and left the airport to go to the first hotel to check in. S was shocked when she entered the room and saw that there were petals leading her to the rose and the balcony that had a perfect view of Rome’s spring view.
And there, J popped the question, and S said yes!
What’s a funny or sweet story from your relationship that your wedding guests might not know about?
S had a favourite Sherpa denim jacket, the ones with a white furry collar. J accidentally left his favourite denim jacket and S’s sherpa denim jacket in the AirBnB closet in Venice.
Although S did remind J to check the closet before they left the AirBnB, J just confidently checked and said that there was nothing inside the closet.
It became something S was very upset about when she found out at Milan that her favourite Sherpa denim jacket was nowhere to be found, but thereon, it became a joke between J and S every time they travel to need two people to check the closet before embarking for the next destination.

What’s one thing you guys always agree on / disagree on?
We agree on mostly everything because S is good at convincing (HAHA), and disagree when it comes to communication styles.
More about your wedding journey
How did you decide on your wedding date and venue? / What was your wedding theme and what was your inspiration behind it?
Glory Presbyterian Church for the church wedding matrimony was no brainer as it was J’s church.
J’s dad used to be the head pastor of the church and J has been attending the church since childhood, therefore, we just held our matrimony and solemnization there.
The York Hotel for the wedding banquet dinner was chosen because it had a pretty central location in Singapore, and the price was affordable compared to some of the other hotels located in the central location.
J and S are not people who place importance on brand name and the number of stars the hotel has, as long as the service is good, the food tasted above average, there was availability for J and S preferred wedding date - the rest just fell in place.

What was your wedding day like? What were some of your biggest challenges you faced during your wedding planning?
The wedding day was extremely jam-packed, starting at 5:30 AM and only ending at 12:00 AM.
While it was undeniably exhausting, we didn’t really have a choice. S is Malaysian, and her family, relatives, and close friends travelled from Malaysia to Singapore, so it was more convenient for everyone to attend a single-day event.
We had the following ceremonies: the gate crash, church ceremony, tea ceremony, and dinner banquet—all of which were a lot of fun, though genuinely tiring.
Wedding planning itself was challenging, mainly because of differing opinions. There were misalignments between family and friends regarding the size of the wedding, expectations about providing breakfast at the hotel (even though lunch and dinner were already included), and even unhappiness from some people about helping to decorate the album table.
To make things more stressful, just 1.5 weeks before the wedding day, one of my bridesmaids informed me that her grandmother had passed away. As a result, she and her sister were unable to travel to Singapore to be my bridesmaids.
I had to ask one of my closest colleagues at the last minute if she would be willing to step in, arrange a dress for her in under a week, and brief her on everything. I’m incredibly thankful that she agreed to be my bridesmaid.
Despite all the challenges, we had an amazing time during the wedding, and many core memories were created.
About your wedding day outfit(s)

What made you choose our Eden gown and what did you like the most about it?
I chose the Eden (Lace-up) gown because it was elegant. My friends said the Eden gown looked modern, and it suited me! Nothing else was added to the gown itself to keep it simple, but I paired it with my hair down in curls and a Princess crown.

If you had multiple outfits, please share your decision for the multiple outfits and the vibe you were going after!
My mother is from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was familiar with Ketvondee Studio, which is located near her workplace, and mentioned that their rental prices for two dresses were affordable. She also suggested that a big, puffy gown would be suitable for the church wedding, while a princess-style puffy wedding dress would be perfect for the first march-in at the dinner banquet!
