Share with us about your love story. How did you meet and where?
We met on Hinge. His profile caught my eye after he answered a question about his worst fashion mistake, which was his childhood bowl cut. I, too, rocked the childhood bowl cut and was occasionally teased by my sister about it, so I knew we would have something to laugh about together. We went on our first date to a Futurebirds concert.

How did your partner propose? Share with us your proposal story!
We were visiting my hometown in Chesterton, IN, and hiking at the Indiana Dunes National Park. I had a feeling he might propose since he had recently asked about ring styles and was more curious than usual about the specific details of our plans.
Usually, he just goes with the flow. There is a place on the hike where you climb up a steep sand dune and are rewarded with a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan—this is where I imagined he would propose. He didn't. And I figured I miscalculated my prediction.
Later on in the hike, my mom suggested we take a photo at another lookout point, and he got down on one knee! He was able to surprise me after all!

What do you love most about your partner?
He makes me laugh in the most mundane moments and he has the softest heart. He will drop everything to help anyone that needs it. He has always felt like home to me.
What’s one thing you guys always agree on / disagree on?
We will always agree on pizza toppings. We will never agree on identifying whether something is blue or green. We live in a blue house. He says it’s green. He’s wrong ;)

More about your wedding journey
How did you decide on your wedding date and venue?
Visiting Glacier National Park in Montana had been on my bucket list. Faisal had visited once but always talked about going back to explore more. We knew we wanted to elope and wanted to make sure it was special and adventurous. When I suggested getting married there, it was an immediate “yes!” We chose August because there are a lot of wildflowers in bloom during that time.

What was your wedding day like? Were there any unexpected surprises throughout the journey?
We had the dreamiest wedding day! Our photographer laid out a tour of the most stunning places and we just got to take it all in together and enjoy it. We read our vows to each other at sunset. Then we enjoyed a picnic while watching some beavers swimming and listening to some people yodelling across the river.
One thing we laughed about—there was a field in full bloom with wildflowers and we thought it would be a great spot to get photos. Our photographer told us to hold hands and spin around like we were in The Sound of Music. As we started twirling, we realized the field was scattered with cow pies! Thankfully, we safely dodged them, but it was an unexpected surprise.

About your wedding day outfit
What made you choose a Bone & Grey gown and what did you like the most about it?
I love a gown with a dramatic back. The ribbons that framed the low back on the Julia gown added the perfect feminine touch!

Was there a special touch added to / a special way of styling your B&G gown?
My gown was paired with some white hiking sneakers to ensure I didn’t slip and fall down a cliff! My mom also created a little satchel for us to carry the rings made out of fabric from my Grandma Carmen’s wedding dress.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding that you love up till today?
Listening to Faisal’s vows. They were the perfect combination of funny and sweet!

Advice for Brides-to-be…
It goes by so fast! Be present and enjoy the adventure, even the hiccups. Faisal and I always joke about "Type 1" versus "Type 2" fun. Type 1 fun is fun you experience in the moment, while Type 2 fun isn’t fun at the time but is fun to joke about later. With that perspective, nothing can go wrong!
