Share with us your love story. How did you meet and where?
We met back in polytechnic as classmates while studying for our diploma. At first, we were just friends, but as we spent more time together, we naturally grew closer. When we eventually entered the same university, our friendship turned into a relationship.
How long have you been together and what made you fall in love with your partner?
We were together for 9 years. What made me fall in love with him was how supportive and patient he was, especially during our studies. He was always guiding me, helping me understand things better, and that was when our bond deepened.
He’s also someone who loves surprises, and those thoughtful gestures made me feel very cared for.
What was your first impression of each other?
I thought he was reserved but sincere. He later told me he admired my independence and warmth. Over time, we discovered how well our personalities balanced each other.
How did your partner propose? Share with us your proposal story!
True to his personality, he planned everything meticulously and managed to completely surprise me. He proposed in Ginzan Onsen, Japan, a place that feels straight out of a Studio Ghibli film. It was snowing, magical, and surreal.
Knowing how difficult it is to secure accommodation there, I later realised how much effort went into the planning. He even coordinated with our close friends, who were there as photographers, without me suspecting a thing.
And despite knowing our friends would be joining the trip, the proposal still came as a total surprise. The way everything unfolded felt so natural and effortless. It was a moment I’ll never forget!
What’s one thing you guys always agree/disagree on?
We always agree on planning ahead. He’s the structured one, and I’ve learned to trust his plans. We disagree on spontaneity. I tend to go with the flow, while he prefers everything mapped out. Somehow, that balance works perfectly for us.
What was your wedding theme and what was your inspiration behind it?
We wanted a wedding that felt intimate, elegant, and timeless. The focus was never on excess, but on emotion, celebrating love in a space that felt personal, warm, and true to us.
What made you choose to do a bespoke gown with Bone & Grey and what did you like the most about it?
What drew me to Bone & Grey was the heart behind the brand. Knowing that it was founded from the perspective of a bride who once struggled to find the right gown made a huge difference.
Bone and Grey also showed how deeply they understand what brides truly need: comfort, confidence, and a gown that feels right both emotionally and practically.
Was there a special touch added to / a special way of styling your B&G gown and why?
My Bone & Grey dress was fully customised to suit a very specific purpose: Ballroom dancing!
We learned ballroom dance specially for our wedding, so I needed a dress that allowed full flexibility and movement without compromising on elegance.
The dress was thoughtfully designed to move beautifully with the dance, while still being versatile enough to transition seamlessly into an after-party look without needing a change of outfit.
Bone & Grey perfectly understood these requirements and executed the customisation flawlessly.
